Educational Attainment by Age
Educational attainment varied by age (see Figure 1.4). Across all racial and ethnic groups, adults ages 35 to 44 were the most likely to have attained an associate degree or higher (53.2 percent), followed by adults ages 25 to 34 (51.3 percent), adults ages 45 to 54 (50.8 percent), adults 55 to 64 (44.7 percent), and adults ages 65 and older (42.4 percent). Regardless of age, Asian adults had the highest levels of educational attainment of all groups; more than half of Asian adults had attained at least an associate degree.
