Undergraduate Enrollment at HSIs
In 2016, there were 375 Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs)[1] enrolling about 3.5 million undergraduate students. Of this number, almost half (48.5 percent) were public two-year colleges. Hispanic or Latino students represented just under half of all students enrolled in HSIs. This pattern was similar across sectors, except for private nonprofit four-year HSIs, where more than half of students were Hispanic or Latino.
